Sustainable Business Practices

OpTech takes pride in its sustainable business practices and is a strong believer in reducing its carbon footprint no matter how small the effort. We support and proactively seek ways to promote a healthy “green” environment in business.

Examples of OpTech’s green practices include:

  • Client-site computers set up to automatically “sleep” when not in use
  • Conducting systematic assessments of our PCs/laptops based on current energy standards
  • Replacement of any electronics that do not meet current energy-efficient standards
  • Turning off computers, peripherals, and other electronic items whenever possible
  • Printing less, on both sides of the paper and in black and white whenever possible
  • Using post consumer recycled paper with no chlorine
  • Recycling electronics and office applicable supplies with approved recycle authority
  • Buying recycled products whenever possible
  • Employees bring personal mugs and dishware to the office
  • Using programmable thermostats
  • Using videoconferencing rather than traveling for meetings whenever possible
  • Telecommuting or carpooling to work whenever possible
