State of Michigan Features OpTech as a Buy Michigan First Success Story

Detroit, Michigan – OpTech, LLC, a Detroit, Michigan-based IT business solutions company, was highlighted in the Michigan Department of Management and Budget’s 2007 Annual Report for its successful participation in the Buy Michigan First initiative for Michigan businesses.
OpTech was one of over 5,000 Michigan businesses who embraced the program and followed the procurement process outlined in the State Contracting 101 presentation. This resulted in eight information technology contracts, valued over $2 million. Ronia Kruse, president and CEO of OpTech, stated “It is truly based on merit and great for small businesses.”
Buy Michigan First is a State of Michigan initiative that provides opportunities for Michigan businesses to connect with the state’s procurement team and learn how to bid competitively. Lisa Webb Sharpe, director of the Michigan Department of Management and Budget, led the initiative on behalf of Governor Jennifer M. Granholm. As a result of Buy Michigan First, 93% of contract dollars have been awarded to Michigan businesses.
