State of Michigan: Data Center Operations – Configuration Management
Data center Consolidation and Statewide configuration control specialist for DIT UNIX, Linux, Windows and Storage Area Network data processing systems
OpTech’s role in the project
- Plan for Server room migrations into Tier 3 data centers.
- Approve incoming requests from solution engineering for new deployments, changes, and decommissions. Ensure requirements are complete and proposed solutions meet all hosting center standards.
- Review assigned projects and provide guidance on configuration requirements such as: Unix operating system, security zones, clustering, load-balancing, IP addressing, network port usage, billing, naming conventions, rack location, storage area network connectivity, etc.
- Plan for additional infrastructure as required, such as new server cabinets, power, fiber light guides, network patch panels, network switches to support new deployments.
- Plan for installations of standalone IT equipment within the hosting centers, such as Storage Area Network (SAN) equipment, SUN and HP Enterprise Servers.

Project Summary
- Provide experienced software administrator for Avaya Communications Manager systems.

Project Summary

Java Programming Project
Project Summary
Worked on the MICR (Michigan Incidental Crime Report), which records incidents from counties and sends them to the FBI via various third party interactives such as NIBRS. Converted the existing mainframe/linc programming to a client/server based system. This required rewriting the entire MICR system in Java, with an Oracle backend.

Project Summary
The CMH Link Reporting System is a reporting application that caters to the reporting needs of various departments of Detroit Wayne County Community Mental Health Agency (DWCCMHA). Reports are written based on the end user's requirements and reports are published through a .Net web application.

Property Tax Administration System
Project Summary
The Property Tax Administration System (PTA) is a web-based intranet application, which deals with delinquent taxes for the county. The application provides functionality to accept taxes, provide inquiry, handle properties in forfeiture/foreclosure, maintain properties in bankruptcy, and conduct auction of the foreclosed properties.
OpTech was responsible for production support, enhancement, user access and creating ad hoc/standard reports.

Project Summary
OpTech provides Federal Transit Administration (FTA) a team of experts that deliver Requirements Analysis and Data & Process Modeling services. The OpTech team is preparing an “As- Is State” technical data model of the existing Grants database and related processes. The model is intended to provide a common, consistent way of categorizing and describing data to facilitate data sharing and integration, and aid in describing the types of interaction and exchanges that occur within the FTA and between other Federal, State and local governments accessing the system. Over the previous year’s many changes have been made to the system with incomplete or inaccurate documentation.

The OpTech Team is utilizing ERWin as its primary modeling tool and is active in meeting with SMEs within the FTA and outside contractors and agencies to identify new as well as existing processes.
OpTech’s role in the project
Document existing data and processes, support the definition of new requirements, develop new processes, and feed those outputs into the existing FTA change management processes. Meet with all groups interfacing with this system to gather an up-to-date model of the current processes involved in the Grants System.
Recruiting Specialist – Intel Analysts Joint Intelligence Operations Center
Project Summary
PACOM JIOC at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii provides direct intelligence support for all military forces assigned to CRDUSPACOM. The scope of this project is to provide recruitment management support of all on/off island recruitment initiatives for PACOM JIOC. These recruitment initiatives include job fairs, a Cooperative Education Program and an Intern Program. The team members have Secret and Top Secret Clearances and interact with DIA and DOD on-going programs.
Technical Computer Training Project
SPAWAR InTech Training
OpTech is providing SPAWAR InTech Training with ad hoc training services throughout the Pacific Rim. Certified Instructors provide training services in Microsoft certified courses, UNIX, CompTIA, Cisco Training and PC Applications. The main training center is located in Perl Harbor, Hawaii, but the training may also be provided in Japan, and Okinawa.
In some cases, these Instructors need to have Secret or Top Secret Clearances to allow them access to the systems for which they are providing training.
