IT CASE STUDY

GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM MIGRATION

OpTech implemented a countywide Geographic Information System. Major projects include an upgrade of the Emergency 911 GIS system, Ortho Image QC, and migration of the GIS Application.

DATA CENTER CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT

OpTech oversees the infrastructure and server deployment relative to centralizing more than 60 data centers into three primary data centers, while assuring compliance with ITIL based change management processes. OpTech staff is involved with consolidating server rooms into Tier 3 Data Centers and developing tools to interface the configuration management database with other systems.

GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM MIGRATION

MICHIGAN INCIDENTAL CRIME REPORTING SYSTEM

OpTech is responsible for re-engineering the Michigan Incidental Crime Reporting System (MICR). This system interfaces with various Local, State, and Federal databases throughout the U.S. The solution involves the migration of main frame and Linc programming to a client server based system and rewriting the entire MICR system to Java, with an Oracle backend. The legacy data was migrated to an Oracle database, Java based application was developed for data entry and the system was enhanced to comply with legislative changes. Interfaces were developed to the Department of Corrections for Prison information, Department of Secretary of State for driver information and images, Criminal History Record system, MSP Billing System and Next Generation LEIN.
