FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
OpTech Veterans Program lands “Silver-Level” recognition from Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency
Troy, Mich., Dec. 13, 2016 – OpTech, an IT, engineering, healthcare and financial workforce solutions provider, announced today that they’ve received Silver-Level recognition for their OpTech Veterans Program initiatives from the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA). This is the second year that OpTech has been acknowledged for their efforts in employing veterans; the firm was previously awarded a Bronze-Level certification.
The OpTech Veterans Program was founded in January 2016 with the mission of employing veterans. The program is dedicated to proactively seeking qualified veterans and assisting them in finding jobs that will advance their careers after their military service. OpTech set a goal of placing 10 veterans before the end of this year. They exceeded their goal by placing a total of 14 veterans, the last placement being made in November.
“We are committed to delivering the best talent to our clients and identifying veterans as a source to train and provide employment opportunities. The skill-sets they bring to the private sector after their military experience is an advantage, and OpTech is pleased to be a part of producing opportunities to our heroes,” stated Ronia Kruse, OpTech President & CEO.
In order to receive recognition from the MVAA, a company must complete a rigorous application and have placed veterans previously. Recipients of the Silver-Level status are required to make a commitment to hire a set number of veterans and sign a statement of support to the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). Once all goals and requirements have been determined, the company has one year to reach their commitment and advance in order to achieve a higher level of status. The recognized companies are featured on the MVAA website.
“This wasn’t even expected so soon in our program- we are achieving our goals much faster than anticipated and it’s due to the hard work and expertise of our OpTech Veterans team,” said Kruse.

MVAA is a state government agency and is housed within Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.
The agency works to identify and break down barriers veterans face in employment, education, health care and quality of life, making Michigan a great place for veterans and their families to call home. The agency aggregates veterans services currently found in 14 state agencies as well as hundreds of community-based veteran programs to create a no wrong door access to benefits and services.
